Case Study: Amsterdam Central Train Station
Amsterdam Centraal is the largest railway station of Amsterdam, Netherlands, a major railway hub and the most visited national heritage site of the Netherlands.
National and international railway services at Amsterdam Centraal are provided by NS, the principal rail operator in the Netherlands. Amsterdam Centraal is the northern terminus of Amsterdam Metro Route.
Since 1997, the station building and surrounding area have been undergoing major development and reconstruction works to accommodate the North-South Line Amsterdam metro route, which is due to open in 2018.
Data acquistion testing on-site Amsterdam Centraal
Due to several setbacks in the North-South Line development Techno Fysica was tasked with supplying 854 ton (8386 kN) capacity compression style load cells and all related data acquisition equipment as well as personnel to monitor tests onsite.
All this is performed in-house – we designed and manufactured the steel spring elements, instrumented and wired the force transducers and wrote the client specific data acquisition software, performed a certified calibration on the 14 force transducers and successfully setup and monitored all PC based electronic equipment during the course of the tests and the actual excavation works.
